So John Jacob “Don Draper” Hornor posts a review of a local Jason Isbell show on his blog. It wasn’t fawning, but he didn’t exactly rip the guy, either. Pointed out that Isbell looked a little bloated, seemed a little listless. In the end, he still gave the show a qualified thumbs up, and even pointed folks at Isbell’s web site and told them to go buy some tunes.
But somewhere out in the fetid bowels of the interwebs, some dweeb got his knickers, or probably his Spider-Man pajama bottoms, all in a knot. Somewhere in the paneled recesses of Mommy’s basement, between masturbatory anime porn binges, the Isbell review drove his acne-addled brain over the edge, prompting a bizarre, non-sequitur flame salvo. No real clue what the dweeb’s issue was, not with the review or with the author, just that he was inexplicably compelled to spew, albeit in the manly fashion, which is to say from behind a curtain of anonymity.
So the flash challenge? A thousand words or less involving said or a similar dweeb, where it goes from there is up to you. Deadline is two weeks from today. If you’re in, send me the link to your story and I’ll post all the fun on D-Day.
