I haven’t tossed down the flash fiction gauntlest in a good long while, so I’m gonna give ‘er a go before my hosting skills get all rusty. And this time it’s for a good cause. For every story submitted, I’m donating five bucks to the Red Cross to help out those folks who got nailed by the tornados yesterday. So let’s see if you can break me, people.
The theme this time out? Rain. Damn weather’s been out of control in lots of places – tearing up airports in St. Louis, chasing Julie “Don’t You Dare Say My Real Name” Summerell around the Carolinas like she stole weather’s man. Hell, the weather’s even got internationally known bad-ass Steve Weddle huddling in the basement with his booze.
OK, so give me 1000 words of less, and make sure rain plays a role in the tale. If you’re in, just let me know in the comments box and send the link where you will post your story, and I’ll add your name to the honor roll. Have your stories ready to go on May 7.

Jeez. I whomped up a bit of challenge-less flash fiction yesterday morning. It would have been about ten words to throw in rain.
Oh, well.
I haven’t done one of these challenges in a long time, so I’m in.
Sounds like fun. It’s practically raining men around these parts too. So, I’ll see what my twisted little mind wrings out 🙂
Count me in!

Hi. Saw this on Twitter — hope you don’t mind if I jump in — excellent cause.
You have my pen. And my axe.
OK, I guess I can come out of retirement for this. I hope I don’t get soaked in the process.
I’m game. Bring on the rain. 🙂

Count me in. HA! I just cost you five bucks. I’ll throw my own five spot in to the Red Cross. Y’know, payin’ it forward or some shit.
You’re a brave man. 🙂
And I actually get to be on an honor roll?
Count me in, too!

Look for second flash piece ever over at Shotgun Honey in the coming week. A great cause that hits close to home. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10.
Oh no! I just started a new flash piece for Flash Fiction Friday…
But, an opportunity to get a total stranger to part with his hard-earned money…. I ccan’t pass that up. Besides…. I live in the Pacific Northwest. If I can’t come up with a few words about rain….
Yeah… count this dame in! 🙂

As long as the link I have shows where your story will be, we’re good. I’ll do a new post on 5/7 that links out to all the entries.
