A whirlwind of murder and mayhem is ripping up the interwebs. Like I said when I threw down the flash guantlet, for every story submitted, I’m sending five bucks to the good folks at the Red Cross to help out everybody that got sucker punched by the tornados a bit back. Below is the list of everyone who’s said they wanted to play. If they’ve sent me their link, then all you have to do is click on the name to read their story. I’m trying to track down the last few, and will add the links as I find them. So far? 25 entries, so I’ll be sending $125 off to the Red Cross. Thanks for playing peeps. Well done.
The Tornado Relief Flash Fiction Challenge touches down

too late to squeeze out another 5?
Hey, if I get the story before midnight, I’ll cough up the dough.

Dan, that’s great of you. Unfortunately I can feel the ideas sticking in my head and I doubt I’ll make it.
I feel really bad for not screwing more out of you (though you’ve been amazingly generous).
Instead, I’m going to have to go over to the Tornado Relief fund and send in £5 (which should be $7 or so).
I still don’t feel good enough, so I’ll donate all the sales of Dirty Old Town for May to it as well. That way I don’t feel so awful that I can’t bump out 1000 words before midnight that anyone would want to read. It won’t amount to much more than a the price of a small hill of beans but it will be more than nothing.
Hope you can live with that.
It’s a great thing you’re doing. Pat on the back from Dunbar.

As of this morning, I’m new to your blog. I realized after I posted the link to my story that it doesn’t involve crime — well, not like murder. I suppose what is alluded to was a crime in several states back in the 60s when it takes place. But, hey, it’s got rain! Anyway, does that “disqualify” my story?
Any topic is welcome — send a link!
Thank you for doing this! It’s such a brilliant idea, very generous of you. I’m really glad I got to take part in it!
Oh, and I think I’ll check out the entries. Nice way to get to read a few new stories. 🙂
Dan,
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me and I missed the challenge and don;t really have time to do up a worthwhile story. How would it be with you if I matched your contribution? Check goes out tomorrow (Mothers Day) morning.
Well done.
Cool stuff, Dan.
Here’s my story, and I’m donating $10 myself. Great challenge and a great cause.
