A month or so back, I tossed down the flash fic guantlet. Dysfuntional families fighting over inheritences, or whatever that prompt got ya’ll pondering. As an inducement, I’m donating $5 per story to Heartspring, a center for children with Autism in Wichita, KS. And, since I’m on vacation in Maine this week, I’m going to pick up something special as a prize for whichever twisted tale most tickles my fancy.
Now here’s where my traditional lack of planning kicks in. Like I said, on vacation. The car’s coming in a hour to take us to the airport. And we’re staying in a cabin. In the woods. Where there may not be internet. So following are the names of folks who said they might like to play. I’ve linked to the stories I’ve received so far, and I’ll add more as they come in (including, I hope, my own, which ain’t quite ready for the light of day). Feel free to drop your offering right in the comment box if you are so inclined and would like to be included, and I will add you to the dishonor role as time and WiFi allow.
Anyway, enjoy.

I noticed this challenge about an hour ago, and thought I’d contribute a piece. Here’s what I came up with. Happy birthday!

Best,

Haha! I love your sense of humor, Dan! Ukranian? Really? Lol!!
You are sort of close though… I am Russian/Portuguese descent; Mama is from St Petersburg.
There is a story behind the name… I shall have to post it one day.
My… looks like there is going to be a lot of stories. I am wading through about two dozen stories over on Flash Fiction Friday right now… looking forward to reading everyone’s here later tonight or tomorrow.
Have fun on vacation! Oh.. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (((hug!!)))
Thanks for the reminder and for inspiring this little ditty called
Firecracker

Not sure what made me think this one was about the Fourth of July, but I’ve never been good at following instructions…
[…] Thanks to Dan O’Shea for this flash fiction challenge! […]
You still taking dishonor roll entries?
Here’s mine. Based on a true story (I come from a family of roaches).
Happy B-Day week, and I thank you on behalf of Heartspring, even though I ‘m sure they will be thanking you directly. 🙂
